Re: Week 2: Adena vs. River Valley
For the record that is incorrect. The boys are asking to come out and play and that is a good sign that the program is turning around. The new boys will not play in a game (Varsity or JV) until at least week 6 if they earn a spot. Again please don't believe everything you hear. Your record of this ...

Re: Week 2: Adena vs. River Valley
I heard that the RV head coach is asking the kids in the school (specifically juniors/seniors) to come out and play football and telling them they can play in tomorrows game. Maybe he should have thought of this before last school season ended? Or at least before now. What are everyones thoughts?

Re: River Valley Coaching Search
LOL Boy everyone is fired up now! I'm not down on the freshman kid just the administration in general and how it's all handled. That's great that he works hard and kudos to him in the future, every school needs more of that. But.......keep sticking your head in the sand or drinking that silver and b...

Re: River Valley Coaching Search
Actually no..... There were multiple applicants that were NOT "related" in some way to a school board member or administrator..... But they were never going to get proper consideration of course. This is rv we are talking about after all. seohhoops- I'm not saying that was the ONLY reason ...

Re: River Valley Coaching Search
It seems to me he might be even more strict than Hill based on his background. If people at RV couldn't handle Hill's style, how is this gonna work? OK this will upset some but it's the truth. Maybe he's the best guy for the job?.........Turns out Quinns wife is Lovell Forgey who is related to The ...

Re: River Valley Coaching Search
Just heard that Aaron Quinn from Rio Grande is the new head coach for RV. Tall guy like 6'7". Interesting...... Nobody saw that coming I don't think? The few times I've talked to him he seemed like a great guy, wish him success. Heres some older info on him: http://www.rioredstorm.com/roster/10...

Re: River Valley Coaching Search
As Bevo posted Tackett was 3-44 with teams he coached. That says a lot about Tacketts coaching ability right there. How does 3-44 make your program better? I would say he had zero input with Coach Stout and Coach Hill. Very difficult to go by freshman or JV records because many kids moved up but I ...

Re: River Valley Coaching Search
Having Tackett and Skidmore involved with the program were mistakes by Hill. Those 2 have been bad for Gallia county basketball for a long time. Both were clueless on how to develop youth programs. Tackett was a terrible youth league coach so he was in way over his head as a high school coach. I do...

Re: River Valley Coaching Search
Wow I haven't been on in a while and so many posts to respond 2! Prep Expert- Hill didn't "start" a youth program at RV. He attempted to take over a youth program that had been running for 30 years and hurt it greatly. By alienating many people who gave their time and support to the kids ...

Re: River Valley Coaching Search
This may not be the case but I heard that Hill has yet to turn in a written resignation so therefore they cannot do anything about the job until he does. Can someone verify this?

Re: River Valley Coaching Search
Boy, been a long time since I've dived into a thread like this, but I'm taking the plunge. So, in other words, it sounds like you are looking for a hybrid of Dr. Phil, Richard Simmons, Bill Clinton, and Mr. Rogers to make it work at RV, since "RV is different!" Well, good luck with that. ...

Re: OHSAA - 3/22/13 - Proposal for a more competitive balanc
Ok so now private schools can just limit their enrollment to overcome any penalties whereas public schools cannot. Yet by doing this it will give some people the impression that the OHSAA is at least attempting to level the playing field even though it is a total farce......... Nice ...... Whatever ...

Re: Coaching Change at Alexander?
Youth programs coaches are volunteers and are much appreciated. Just wish high school coach would install a practice plan for youth coaches to teach more fundamentals and less plays. Running A program and installing a system are two different things. Very well said. The problem was that Hill ran of...

Re: Coaching Change at Alexander?
Until you get a high school coach that is deeply involved with the whole program, making sure from biddy league on up, kids are taught fundamentals, along with having fun and playing hard. Changing coaches probably wont have much effect. Teams that are successful year after year usually have strong...

Re: Coaching Change at Alexander?
Rv went young last time now he jumped on the carousel so young or old your eventually going to b on the carousel if u hang around long enough.so rv shouldn't b a test pattern for young coaches to find their way. Don't gotta be a test pattern, find a young guy that would be commited to buidling a pr...
