Re: Pioneer Valley Conference-Early thoughts and predictions

I thought that we played really well. Crooksville's coach talked to us afterward, he said he expected them to compete at the top of their league this year. They were big and strong. Had a 6'7 kid in the middle with skills and a true "Power" forward around 6'4 270 who the parents said is ge...

Re: Pioneer Valley Conference-Early thoughts and predictions

Really good scrimmage to watch @ Crooksville last night. 1st quarter: Caldwell led 9-2 and let it slip away, took a few bad shots at the end of the quarter. Crooksville 13 Caldwell 12 2nd quarter: Caldwell led 10-5 with two minutes to go and made similar mistakes to the first quarter. Crooksville 14...

Re: Pioneer Valley Conference-Early thoughts and predictions

Who does everyone else scrimmage? I have read about Fort's first couple on here. How about everyone else? How are they performing in the early going?

Re: Pioneer Valley Conference-Early thoughts and predictions

Who will be the starters or rotation for each of these teams? From what I remember the past year and seeing some of them this summer....... River-Price, Marconi, Caldwell, Eggleston, Indermule, Isally Fort-Smith, Lang, Anderson, Lagrean, (forget the returning post players name, can see him though) T...

Re: DVI Region 23, Symmes Valley vs Bishop Rosecrans

If Rosecrans had tailback Luke Lloyd they are the #2 seed in this region and stood a darn good chance of winning it. Without Lloyd and with Lanning being hurt they are in trouble. Didn't they beat Danville by a few scores early in the year?

Re: Warren Warriors Basketball 2012-2013

Newark Catholic is a premier team. They nearly made the state tournament a year ago and had no seniors. Their big kid and two of their guards are supposed to be outstanding. Should be a great game to prepare Warren for the tournament

Re: Pioneer Valley Conference-Early thoughts and predictions

I think they will be better for sure. The last coaching staff was not good, they had talent and athleticism and did little with it. Who all will they have? I know they will have Laffre, Brown, Jorris....sophomore class is my sons age and have always been solid. It would help them a lot to have Nixon...

Re: Pioneer Valley Conference-Early thoughts and predictions

Frontier was 6-14 last season return everyone and you say they go 0-12?Also FF never has a post player and they have won the league 9 out of 11 yrs. Haha....chill out, you sound like an upset third grader. Nobody is disrespecting your Cadets, they will be very good and compete for a league title as...

Re: Pioneer Valley Conference-Early thoughts and predictions

No way does River lose three games in the league this winter. I see it playing out this way: 1. River 11-1 (loss to Fort on the road) 2. Fort 10-2 (loss to River on the road and loss @ Trail) 3. Trail 8-4 (loss both to River, loss @ Fort, loss @ Caldwell) 4. Caldwell 6-6 (loss both to river, loss bo...

Re: Pioneer Valley Conference-Early thoughts and predictions

I agree that he has a lot of potential but I would have guessed him to be in the 6'4 180 lb range a year ago. He was not very physical but had good touch. I really believe the biggest asset for River will not be their excellent perimeter play but the muscle under the bucket. If you look league wide ...

Re: Pioneer Valley Conference-Early thoughts and predictions

You are right, Larrick wasn't a very good offensive basketball player, but he was big (6'7) and strong and played a role. He rebounded and defended, set screens and still got them around 10 points a game. Not everyone is a star, great teams have great role players. Considering you watch as much Fort...

Re: Pioneer Valley Conference-Early thoughts and predictions

He doesn't want to give River any credit because they are a threat to unseat his beloved Cadets. Spy bleeds the colors of the Cadets, he lives his athletic dreams through them and he has reason to be optimistic again this winter. They will be a very good basketball team. However, I don't agree that ...

Re: Pioneer Valley Conference-Early thoughts and predictions

Lagrean is a very nice athlete, though he is only around 6'2. He will help them out a ton. I really feel like this league will be three levels....River/Fort at the top battling it out. Trail/Shenandoah/Caldwell in the next level....and Central/Frontier bringing up the rear. I also think that as bad ...

Pioneer Valley Conference-Early thoughts and predictions

Thought I would start a new thread. Anything new that we should look at with any of these teams as football begins to wind down? Injuries from other sports that could possibly affect any of these teams or additions that could help them? The one I can think of is Nixon from Central, will he be able t...

Re: Hocking league

Having watched both Waterford and Miller play my sons team in a shoot out and at a summer league I can tell you that while both are going to be pretty bad, Miller was far worse than Waterford. I assumed that they had to be missing someone when we played them, one of their parents said that it was th...

Re: PVC: Fort Frye 5-2(3-1) @ Caldwell 1-6 (0-4) Week 8

What is sad is that this could even be a game considering one team is 1-6......the P.V.C. is arguably the worst small school football league in the state this year considering that Fort/River are the class of this league and everyone else is able to compete with them. Caldwell has good young talent ...

Talked to coach yesterday, he said they have 18 teams and several sponsors. Will make it up after the running is over in the morning. Hopefully the weather cooperates.
