Re: Gallia's Osborne 2009 Paul Walker award winner
Congratulations Coach Osborne, you are receiving a well deserved honor. I've watched you coach throughout the years and have since moved from the Gallia County Community. You coached my peers in high school, my nephew since then and my sons were fortunate enough to have participated in a free basket...

Re: Evan Wood top GAHS tackler in PPHS game
Great Job Evan! Have a great year and keep up the good work. I'm sure that your dad takes partial credit in your "workout" program. Hard work never goes unnoticed.

Re: Student Athlete Parents
Agree Yossarian, for the most part treat them the same. Not calling you crazy. Just need coaches with integrity to carry out rules and boundaries.

Re: Student Athlete Parents
I agree that parents need to read this . It's a great post and yes should be handed to parents along with standard rules. Just goes to show that kids learn much more than sports from being involved in extracurricular sports activities. I think sports team unity lacks in alot of programs these days. ...

Re: WK3 (1-0) Sheldon-Clark, Ky @ (0-2) FairlandNo que
No question that he's missed but Fairland has to adjust. It's just what the game demands. I wish Mike Lamb the best but NO program revolves around one player. Bottom line more players need to step up (or be put in a position to be able to step up). Again, first half looked like a win by a big margin...

Re: WK3 (1-0) Sheldon-Clark, Ky @ (0-2) Fairland
This game was as good as won at the first half. Multiple injuries (thoughts and prayers to #4 and his family, incredible contribution to your team). Somehow the game seemed unimportant for the time you were down out there. Speedy recovery to you. I think the coaching is fine. A few costly penalties ...

Re: Fairland's new rule!
This is a good rule.
Fairland BOE needs to make up their mind with regard to these rules. If the board makes them then by all means have a good reason (accountability, high standards) and then keep them no matter how much the few may whine.

Re: Fairland Football Coach ?
I would have to agree with you "pooper". I think this would have to be a parental decision. It's a cop out to say I'm putting it in the hands of my child. The parents are still the parents until age 18.

Re: Fairland Football Coach ?
Ok, let's say these kids transfer to the school play a year and decide for whatever reason that they want to transfer back? Doesn't NCAA have rules for this? Otherwise there would be a lot of transfers in and out of schools. I believe you have to sit one year. What year of school are they in now?

sign them up then---maybe just a question of where to go then. All to one school or are they all getting split up?

Re: Fairland Football Coach ?
I certainly hope all factors have been thoroughly investigated. What's to say your son doesn't get the chance to play ball because the talent is extensive at the new school then where does that leave him? Is he OK to stand and support the team from the side?

Re: Who is Coaching Fairland?
fdrn1 and gambitplaya we're in agreement on this--my only point was why put any of these kids down? they are kids who are entitled to a few good memories. ohiopoint maybe you need to reread buckeyesoftball's post---it puts more people down than anything i commented on. If you think i was referring t...

Re: Who is Coaching Fairland?
Not sure who would fit in that category either. I guess it depends on your standards and how you play during and after high school. I just know buckeyesoftball and I disagree on the nobodies.
Best of luck to the team of 2008.

Buckeyesoftball--I think you show no class when you post on here about girls from the past 2006 team that won the OVC and post them as nobodies. Those girls were a hardworking TEAM --nice notion------don't you think? Those girls have names and although did not play college level ball at least the st...

Emotions running high on this thread. I've gotta go with Earp on this one. Kids gotta hear something positive.. I know alot liked Wilcoxen and alot didn't. Fact of the matter is the elected board made a decision. His record speaks volumes. Although his fan support was awesome during his tenure at FH...

I heard the same rumor. Coach Dillon congratulations! He is a junior high school teacher. His wife played for Fairland in the past. Her father is a pastor at a local church there. Nice family. I wish the team well. I wish everyone a good season with good work ethic, respect for one another and the g...
