Ironton cops 2008 SEOAL golf title

Ironton captured the 2008 Southeastern Ohio Athletic golf title Tuesday at the Valley View Country Club in Fairfield County.

The Fighting Tigers, led by Nathen Kerns 72, finished with a team score of 309, edging second place Marietta by four strokes. The M-Tigers finished with a 313 team effort in the 18-hole meet.

Finishing third was two-time defending champion Zanesville with a 320 score.Warren Local was fourth with 323, followed by Jackson's 324. Jackson's Morgan Dobbins captured league medalist honors with a three under par 68.

Logan was sixth with 329, Gallipolis seventh with 339, Portsmouth eighth with 354 and Chillicothe ninth with 420.

Congrats to the Tigers on winning the SEOAL trophy and a special congrats to the little fella who lives in the trailer park ........Nice job by Coach Kerns as well.......now on to the state and good luck...............
