Yea BUT burg has shown us they cant beat ironton prep or jackson consistently, and Cincy MC will probably get em this year and the P west game is at P West

I feel good about 5 and 5 cause its consistent with who burg is now.
If you feel good about it, then let’s place a bet. Doesn’t have to be money.

Here’s what I’ll wager with you: you take 5-5 or worse, and I’ll take 6-4 or better. The loser cannot comment or post on the SEO Preps football forum for the entire year of 2025. This would include all of your aliases. Can still post and comment in the other forums but not football.

So how confident are you with your prediction?

Crickets!!!!

He don't have the cahoonies to make that bet because Burg could bring in some transfers that could completely change their game.

Low side 6-4, high side 8-2, either way I think they make a playoff run.

All Time Matchups:
14 wins - 21 losses vs Ironton
2 wins - 0 losses vs McNich
15 wins - 11 losses vs Jackson
49 wins - 8 losses vs Northwest
42 wins - 5 losses vs Valley
0 wins - 4 losses vs HP
18 wins - 9 losses vs Oak Hill
50 wins - 27 losses vs Waverly
63 wins - 6 loses vs Minford
47 wins - 27 losses vs PWest, 8-2 AT PWest in Last 10 (since 2004) since playing there seems to give them an advantage in your argument.

PLEASE bet me money Burg ends with 5 losses this season, I'll give you 5 to 1 odds.

I’d have the over/under at 6.5 wins. I doubt Burg loses 5.

I don’t know why anyone would think 5-5🤦‍♂️. That’s happened 3 times since 1964. They have more playoff wins than every other SOC2 school combined, Burg having 50 and Waverly having 7, Valley having 14, West having 10, Oak Hill having 5, Northwest having 1, and Minford having 5. 50 playoff wins vs 42.

SOC2 Championships? Not even close.
Winning Seasons? Not even close.
There’s only one other team to make the state championship (West 2002) and only two others to make the state semifinals (Valley 2014, and Minford 1985).

At the bare minimum, 6-4. They could go 8-2 (either Jackson or Harvest Prep victory). However, 7-3 seems realistic and attainable.

Let’s not forget that Coach Woodward has a:
10-7 record vs. Ironton
And is: 71-6 vs the SOC2, including the playoffs

Barring a game-changing transfer, I’ll guess 7-3, losses against Ironton, Jackson, and HP. And I’d never ever pick against them in the playoffs. That’s the mark of a first class program.

Looks like Portsmouth & the Burg are going to scrimmage this year, showing August 9th. Probably a better decision than mixing it back up in the regular season. Pretty one sided in favor of Burg & very chippy. This way there’s nothing at stake, shouldn’t be that chippy & honestly will probably still bring a decent crowd…without all the money though. Lol

I enjoyed letting this thread sit and marinate and observe comments. Lmao.

I learned two things.

#1 this guys doesnt know how to bet because he used the seops football thread/page as his enticement as if its still 1982 and this platform is enticing when its outdated. Idc if i can post here or not. Lmao. Bet money or shut up because cash app and pp and venmo make it easy.

#2 Burg fans expectations = 7 and 3 and another loss in the region in post season play. And Irontons fans expectations every season is 10 and.0 and a run at canton.

4 of the losses i projected = ironton jackson Cincy and Prep are more than likely.

The only so called upset i projected for burg is vs P west and its barely an upset cause West is only a cpl seasons removed from beating burg and winning the soc.

5 - 5 is likely. This is what burg football is now.

Burgs NIL just took a hit. $100,000 just used for a new softball field for the 2 time defending champs. You win at the burg your rewarded. 6-4, 7-3 doesn’t cut it at the burg. Burgs a state power softball school now.

Which would mean the Ironton community is more supportive of their kids than the burg community is for theirs, correct?

How much money do you want to wager? $100? $1,000? Pick your number. And of course it will have to be transferred electronically. Or depending on how much you want to wager, the money can be held in escrow until the season is over. Time for you to step up to the plate instead of just running your mouth.

As for Ironton, is this another year of doing less with more?
