Re: River vs Monroe Central
If they didn't yet, I'm sure they'll put one in. MC just couldn't handle pressure at all. The pressure got to them, and it got to them quick. A good portion of their turnovers were caused by themselves more so than the Caldwell press. Bad passes, not catching passes, taking bad shots, etc.

River isn't talented enough to beat central, IMO. River and Frontier played the cellar dweller game this past weekend. I am taking Central by 15.

MC by 15...good thing you're not a bookie !
That won't happen, if they even win !

Re: River vs Monroe Central
Is this game at Central? Still don't see River winning. They have only beaten the leagues most inferior team and it wasn't in impressive fashion. Central has some big athletic guys with experience off of last years team. I would guess they won't be really happy after the butt kicking they took in the second half from Caldwell last weekend, especially having a full week off to think about it.

Re: River vs Monroe Central
Just curious....who played the guard spots for Central a year ago? I thought Baker was a returning starter. They start Ring, Baker, Nixon, Kinchen, and Wise. They also get a lot of minutes out of Lafferre and Ramage off the bench based on last weeks performance. Nice size and very athletic as a unit. Didn't all of these kids see significant action last season?

Jimmy Baker is a off guard. They lost Kory Hill and and Marcus Schumacher who did most of the ball handling. Also lost Bettinger and Highman in the post.Only returning starter is Baker.
Ring,Wise,Kinchen, and Lance Schumacher saw some mins.Ramage was bottom of the bench.Nixon and Lafaree played jv.

Why'd he quit?buckfarnesville14 wrote:don't know if you guys already heard, but kinchen quit earlier in the week. can't really blame the kid
Re: River vs Monroe Central
He says to get ready for college football and to get his grades up. The coach, imo, had a big part to do with it though, even if he won't admit it.

Quit on your team, community, and friends after what, one game? Besides, not a whole lot you can do in the winter to prepare for college football other than lifting, unless MC has some sort of indoor training facility that i'm not aware of. Don't get me wrong, the kid is talented, but in basketball, I'm not quite sure his level is where he believes it is. Watching the Caldwell game in particular, he was rather arrogant and cocky, especially considering they were down big at that time.buckfarnesville14 wrote:He says to get ready for college football and to get his grades up.
