Unioto 58
Westfall 48

Unioto led after 1, 17-14. Westfall led 31-29 at the half and 41-38 after 3. Sr Dylan Minney returned for the Shermans and have them the spark they needed down the stretch. Lots of tip passes and big boards and even a couple of nice dishes for the Shermans 6th man. Sr Hudson North also saw his first action of the season after a couple of unfortunate injuries stemming from football had kept him out.

Westfall's Alek Stonerock and Cody See were outstanding and Dylan Anderson knocked down a couple of big 3s in the 1st half to get the Mustangs a halftime lead. Unioto's defensive pressure was much better tonight and keyed the 4th quarter. Westfall did have a 40-33 lead late in the 3rd as well.

Unioto is now 7-4 and hosts McClain Saturday night. Westfall drops to 3-8.

Unioto scoring:
Corcoran 14
Detillion 12 and 15 rebs
Strange 12, 8 in the 4th
Arledge 10
Overly 5
Minney 5, 5 rebs, 4 stls

On a side note I want to give a shout out to a couple of SOC 1 schools who have made Maxpreps top 25 ranking in D-4 in the state of Ohio. Notre Dame comes in at #13 and Eastern Beaver rolls in at #23 . These rankings were posted before there Friday wins so could change but congrats to them these polls are not influenced by human error they are on a formula of wins, losses, strength of schedual . So good job in representing the small school side of the SOC.

Heres a quick update from the West:

Miami Trace gets rolled by Clinton-Massie, 59-40.

Washington stays hot with a 58-51 win over London.

McClain drops another close game, 29-25 to Madison Plains. The Tigers have now lost 5 straight, all by less than 5 points including 3 1 point losses.

Hillsboro loses a tight one, 58-56 to East Clinton.

Barely 93Dog!

But after Southeastern's 55-47 win over Zane Trace, the Panthers are now 6-4 and host River Valley tonight in a very winnable game. They have won 4 straight after losing to Piketon at the buzzer and host Unioto next Friday night in Londonderry. All underclassmen, it looks like they are starting to find their way and should be gaining ground on a good seed in the Athens sectional.

you can be a .500 team and still get a high seed in that sectional.

Miami Trace had their worst shooting night i've seen in a long time. they only scored 9 pts in the 1st half and didn't score a point in the 2nd qtr. they were down 32-9 at half. they finally started looking like the team they'd been this year in the 2nd half by outscoring CM 31-27 but the deficit was too much to overcome.
