You invite us to the Purple Palace ... then send our pups home with an overtime loss ... and now you drop them into a 'TIE' for 3rd ... lol ... would you like to kick us in the gut as well - or have you inflicted enough pain already, Floyd?

if this is how you treat 'BULLDOGS' ... I feel sorry for your new little CAVAPOO friend.

... it's only just begun 93dog ... it;s only just begun ... LOL ... seriously though - OT loss to Logan, at Logan , in a game that could have gone either way ... Athens didn't drop positions ... Eastern Brown moved up ... Eastern Brown on the Highland County Press was supposed to take on Harvest Prep last night, but I found a score for Harvest Prep playing Liberty Union last night - so I'm going to assume they didn't play an "A" "B" split squad LOL ...

I actually have no problems with Eastern Brown moving up ... I think I've made clear how I feel about the Indians ... they are a really good basketball team, with who I think is the best player THAT I HAVE SEEN with my own two eyes ... obviously I have not seen Ironton with Carter and Fletcher yet - but I have seen quite a few other teams this year.

The thought of Warren vs Athens - and Ironton vs Eastern Brown - happening sometime in the tournament at the Convo has this dogs mouth salivating ... lol

... I haven't jotted down this weeks matchups BUT I know Ironton travels to Chilli on Tuesday to take on the Cavs ... might have to head down Rt 180 to 159 to take this one in just to see Fletcher/Carter & Co. in action ...

Glad to see Minford getting a nice spot.Chiili-Ironton should give you a good sense of Warren-Ironton after the Warriors handled the Cavs earlier this week

Two things I need to remember next year about attending the draw:

1) napkins are no good to wipe away drool ... need something bigger ... like a beach towell perhaps ... lol

and

2) get Floyd to go cause he would absolutely love it!

* got to interview (and just discuss basketball off the record with) ... Howie Caldwell (which is always an adventure), Jeff Skinner, Jay Kline, Blaine Gabriel, Curt Moore ... finally met and talked to Tom Bremer (from Miller) for a little while, met and talked to Jeff Caldwell (Southern) ... etc ... etc ...

I'll just start working on a plan now to get the ol Purple Hippo through the doors next year - lol

93dog ... sounds like it was a GREAT afternoon of "talking" hoops with the coaches in the TVC.Southern/Southeaster Ohio ... I listened to the SVC podcast a little as they interviewed the SVC coaches as they came out of "THE ROOMS" ... some interesting "comments" made by a few of the SVC coaches as to their seeding ... looking forward to seeing everything down on paper i.e. who's playing who, where, when ... great stuff!!! my favorite time of the year, the ONLY down side is that the beginning of the "survive and advance" season is also the beginning of the end of hs hoops season ! - just have to enjoy this time around to the fullest ...

you mean a 'nice, clean print out of the brackets'?

yea, I'm looking at em right now Floyd ... LOL ... they have them printed out within minutes of the coaches leaving the room ... did I mention they have a good buffet set up as well?

93dog grazing at the secret seeding location ! free pass to the "hallway" , talking hoops with the gurus of SEO hoops AND grazing at the buffet line!!! ... I totally step away from "legend" status now ... Wahama is band for all eternity from the Elite 8 AND I won't go into another Walmart (since it could be a Wahama satellite school for all I know LOL) ...

Some changes I've been calling for years were addressed and the cookies were very good as well. Always a fun day at the draw. Seems like the coaches got it right for the most part, but I still think ZT should have been the 1 at Athens.

a few EARLY games that caught my eye:

#1 ... Logan Elm (14-7) vs Sheridan (13-6) ... maybe the best 1st round game in the entire tournament.
#2 ... Federal Hocking (15-5) vs Meigs (9-9) ... the only coach I have seen more entertaining and intense than Howie this year is David Kight ... that game is worth the price of admission!
#3 ... Trimble (10-11) vs Miller (9-12) ... this will be the SIXTH time in two years they have squared off ... an intresting match-up to me personally.
#4 ... Vinton County (15-3) vs Fairfield Union (10-9) ... a rematch of last years 3 vs 6 game at Logan.
#5 ... Zane Trace (13-5) vs most likely Belpre (10-9) ... a rematch of last years sectional game in which Belpre was the higher seed and was upset by ZT ... seeing it reversed this year would be intresting.

One last CRAZY scenerio ... Eastern (7-13) vs Southern (9-11) in the first round ... one of the longest, more intense, rivalries in all of southeastern Ohio - and they get to play a 'go-or-go-home' game against each other right their at MEIGS HIGH SCHOOL!
